How it works
- Clicks are short spikes. They are found by comparing each sample with its neighbours, then rebuilt with a smooth curve from the sound on either side. Very sharp drum hits can look like clicks, so use Gentle for music with hard transients.
- Hum is found by measuring the power at 50 or 60 Hz and its harmonics against the frequencies around them, then removed with narrow notch filters.
- Clipped peaks are flat tops. They are rebuilt with a curve that follows the slope into and out of the flat part, then the level is lowered a little so they fit. A badly clipped recording can be improved, not made perfect.
- Nothing is uploaded and nothing is learned from your audio.
